For importers and stores in Latin America and the Caribbean, Miami is the natural place to buy US supplements. The freight forwarders, airlines and shipping lines that serve the region are concentrated around the city, and many suppliers there handle export orders every day. Here is how the process usually works.
1. Choose a wholesale supplier in Miami
Look for a distributor that:
- sells genuine product in sealed, original packaging, and keeps a record of where it came from
- carries the brands your customers ask for, so one order covers your shelf

2. Set up a freight forwarder
Most importers use a freight forwarder with a warehouse in Miami. The forwarder receives your purchases, consolidates them and ships them to your country by air or by sea. Your supplier delivers to the forwarder's US address, and the forwarder takes it from there. If you do not have a forwarder yet, ask your supplier for the ones its customers use.
3. Plan the order
Order by the case, and by the pallet for larger shipments. Mixed-brand pallets are common: protein, creatine, pre-workout and fat burners from several brands in one shipment. Ask your supplier how to group the order so it packs well and ships efficiently.
4. Get the paperwork right
Your shipment needs a commercial invoice and a packing list that match exactly what is in the boxes. Your supplier prepares these for the export. Your forwarder or customs broker then handles the documents your own country's customs asks for.
5. Know your country's import rules
Every country regulates supplements differently. Some require product registration with a health authority before import; others mainly check labels and paperwork at the border. 6. Receive and check
When the shipment arrives, check seals, batch codes and expiry dates against the invoice, and report any damage to your forwarder and your supplier right away.
